Kenyans can now pay Kenya Power (KPLC) electricity bills at zero transaction fees. This good news comes after Airtel Money and Kenya power signed a partnership.
As Kenyans are undergoing a tough economic period, Airtel is looking to help them reduce expenditure. The initiative will benefit both the postpaid and prepaid Kenya Power customers.
“We are now glad to offer Kenyans this solution where they will enjoy zero transaction cost for the next six months when they make their electricity payments. The cost saving on the charge per transaction will enable customers to utilize their money for other purchases,” said MD Anne-Kinuthia Otieno
To pay your electricity bill via Airtel Money, dial USSD code *334#. Thereafter, choose Airtel PayBill then select KPLC.
Kenya Power’s Managing Director & CEO Dr. (Eng.) Joseph Siror, noted that the partnership will enhance seamless payment. Hence, the convenience will enhance customer satisfaction.
He also added the company was happy to have the platform as one of their revenue collection points.
Airtel Money Transaction Fees After 6 Months
The free transactions fees will last for a period of 6 months. Once this ends, customers will have to pay a transaction fee when paying for electricity.
Airtel Money states that the fees will be affordable to their customers.
