Africa Law Tech festival dates announced

Lawyers Hub Kenya has announced the dates for the 4th edition of the Africa Law & Tech Festival 2023. The event will take place in Nairobi, Kenya from July 11 to 12, 2023.

The main focus of this year’s festival is Digital Trade. The event follows pre-festivals held in Cape Town in March and in Paris & Brussels in May 2023.

The Lawyers Hub is a Legal-Tech organisation that works on Digital policy and Justice innovation. Headquartered in Kenya and serving the global south. The Lawyers Hub work is focused on Privacy and Data Protection, Artificial intelligence, Intellectual Property, Digital Identity, Internet Governance, Digital Tax and lending, Tech and Democracy.

Diverse Stakeholders to Attend Africa Law Tech Festival

This year’s festival will see over 2000 delegates attend. The attendees will be drawn from various fields and will explore the components needed to grow digital trade in Africa.

Over the two days, there will be five different summits. The summits are E-Commerce Summit, Data Flows Summit, Digital Infrastructure Summit, Climate Trade Summit, and AI & Business Summit.

Finally, the Africa Law Tech Festival will end with an award session. Those feted will be persons leading innovations in the field of digital trade.

Since, its conception the festival has come a long way. It has received support from both global and local organisations. These include Mozilla, ICANN, Safaricom and many others. In the past it has been a forum where various stakeholders have convened.

The different stakeholders include governments, civil society, Lawyers, Technologists and the public.

This year’s event will be at the Sarit Expo Centre. Interested parties are advised to register early on the Africa Law Tech webiste. The event will be both physcial and virtual.
