Mombasa County manages all parking spaces in the trip-worthy urban destination on the Kenyan coast, known for white sandy beaches and other must-see attractions like Fort Jesus and as a food and drink haven.
For this, many people visit this second largest city in Kenya, locals and tourists, and the county government is responsible for repairing, maintaining, and ensuring good use of parking spaces for their maximum utilization and improvement of traffic flow for efficient mobility and to protect public areas.
Mombasa is a thriving commercial and residential area; thus, there are many shared off-street parking bays rather than privately controlled parking zones, often reserved for certain permit holders or employees.
It is the county government that determines the parking rates, which are mainly charged daily rather than hourly at a cost ranging from Ksh100 to Ksh300, depending on the parking location and vehicle type – it is cheaper for motorcycles.
