Infinix Note 40 Pro Plus

Infinix is bringing its latest midrange smartphone later this month – the Note 40 series.

The Note 40 series is bringing ultrafast charging to the midrange lineup with the launch planned at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.

Note 40 Pro Plus will have either 100 or 200w wired charging and 50W wireless charging as seen from the packaging.

This is not surprising as the Note 12 VIP supported 120W wired charging that could top up the phone from 2% to 85% in 15 minutes while the Zero Ultra had 180W fast charging which juiced up the phone from empty to 69 in 10 minutes.

The Note 30 VIP it is succeeding maxed out at 68W wired charging and 15W wireless charging so the new speeds of the Note 40 Pro+ will be impressive.

Infnix teased its wireless Magcharge on the Note 40 Pro+ which should support up to 110W wireless charging but the phone won’t as the spec shown on the box will probably support 50W.

Infinix’s MagCharge accessories include a wireless charging pad and a power bank and they all support All-Round FastCharge 2.0 which means ultrafast wired charging and fast wireless charging.

The new All-round FastCharge 2.0 will be powered by Infinix’s new self-developed power management Cheetah X1 chip. The Cheetah X1 chip incorporates All-round Support module, a high-precision power monitor module and a safety module.

With its wafer-level packaging technology, the chip shortens signal transmission paths and minimizes electrical signal delays, enhancing electrical performance, particularly in high-speed data transmission
and high-frequency applications.

This means that with its impressive processing efficiency per unit and intelligent algorithms, the chip eliminates the need for translation processes as current flows through the phone enabling the smartphone to offer charging functions beyond standard modes.

Other features include a curved 6.67-inch 1080p AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate and 1300 nits brightness. This is a 10-bit(1B colours) 100% DCI-P3 certified display.

The Note 40 Pro+ will have a glass design(frosted glass) with an IP53 rating and JBL-tuned speakers.

The phone is rumoured to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 processor – which is usually found in high-end flagships like the Vivo X100 series and the OPPO Find X7 series.

The processor may be paired with 12GB of onboard RAM and 256GB of storage. It’ll launch with Android 14 and XOS 14 straight out of the box. XOS 14 adds 9GB of virtual RAM.

Camera specs are still unknown but we expect a 108MP main, 2MP depth sensor, 2MP macro and a 32MP front-facing camera for selfies with video recording capped at 4K 60fps for both main cameras and front-facing cameras as seen on the flagship Zero 30 5G[Read our full review here and a separate camera performance review here.]

The Note 40 Pro+ has a neat gaming feature called Bypass Charge that lets you charge the phone while gaming and it doesn’t heat up. It works by supplying power to the main board instead of the battery to keep the phone cool.

The base Note 40 Pro 4G version will have a Helio G99 processor with 8GB RAM and ship with Android 14 and XOS 14. It will sport a FHD+ screen with 480ppi and support 70W wired charging.

The Infinix Note 40 Pro+ will launch later next week on March 18th.
