TECNO Phantom V Flip 5G Cover Screen

TECNO is preparing to bring the Phantom V2 Flip to market and its key features have now been revealed.

And since the Phnatom V2 Fold has been delayed or cancelled, this will be the only second-generation foldable from TECNO under the Phantom lineup. The Phantom V Flip was launched late last year and now TECNO has redesigned its successor which will be pretty welcome.

TECNO switched things up and instead of the circular outer display which had limited functions as we saw in our review, the Phantom V2 Flip will have a rectangular outer display that will be more practical.

TECNO’s Planet Cover screen let you access quick settings toggles and clock widgets with interactive pets. A bigger rectangular outer display will allow for the use of apps and more widgets.

TECNO Phantom V2 Flip will ship with a bigger battery at 4500mAh- well, two split batteries each having a cavity of 3410mAh and an 1180mAh battery. The Phantom V Flip had a 4000mAh battery. Charging speed has been increased from 45W to 70W aligning with the new Camon 30 series.

It will have two main cameras – unspecified for now. Its predecessor had a 64MP camera that ships with an RGBW sensor with a secondary 13MP ultrawide lens. It also had a 32MP selfie camera. Video recording was capped at 4K 30fps while selfie videos are capped at 2K 30fps and 1080p 60fps.

The TECNO Phantom V2 Flip is set to run on a Dimensity 8050 processor with 16GB of RAM (8GB onboard and 8GB virtual) and 256GB of onboard storage, maintaining a similar configuration to its predecessor. It will ship with Android 14 and HiOS 14 straight out of the box.

The Phantom V Flip had a 6.9-inch AMOLED screen with 1080 by 2640 pixel resolution, 1000 nits brightness and 120Hz refresh rate.

TECNO is likely to begin accepting pre-orders in late October for a November release if they follow the same timeline as last year.
