ChatGPT owner OpenAI maybe going through a mini crisis. Yesterday, media reports indicate that Greg Brockman is taking a long-term leave. Greg is important to the company as he is the current OpenAI president and is also one of 11 co-founders of the artificial intelligence firm. Secondly, Anthropic, an AI company founded by former OpenAI researchers has poached John Schulman. John is one of the co-founders and a senior executive.
The other departure announced is that of Peter Deng who was serving as Product Lead. Peter only joined last year after working as a product lead for major tech companies such as Airtable, Meta and Uber.
Still this week, the billionaire Elon Musk took to court to file a lawsuit against OpenAI and its founders. On Monday in his lawsuit submission, the billionaire alleged that the tech company has betrayed its principles. Mr. Musk claims that OpenAI has vied away from its founding agreement by moving away from a nonprofit structure and partnering with tech giant Microsoft.
“The perfidy and deceit are of Shakespearean proportions,” the suit reads.
Musk was also part of the genesis of OpenAI. He claims his involvement into the startup was only due to trickery by Sam Altman and Greg Brockman. Mr. Musk says the two had claimed that the company would work for the “benefit of humanity” and not shareholder value. The good cause is why Musk had been to the company.

Two months ago, Mr. Musk withdrew an almost identical lawsuit against OpenAI and its founders. Earlier this year, Mr. Musk sued the company for breaching its founding agreement and intentionally misleading him into investing in OpenAI.
OpenAI has also announced that GPT-5 will not be announced at DevDay. According to reports, the company plans to change the format of its DevDay conference this fall to a series of on-the-road developer sessions. This means that GPT-5 will be announced at a different occasion. The AI firm launched ChatGPT 4 last year.
