Samsung Tops Global Gaming Monitor Sales for Seventh Year Running

Samsung Gaming Monitors

Samsung has held the number one spot in global gaming monitor sales by revenue for the seventh year in a row, according to new data from research firm IDC.

The company currently holds an 18.9% share of the worldwide gaming monitor market and leads the OLED gaming monitor segment specifically with 26%, a position it has held for three consecutive years.

The numbers indicate how Samsung has consistently outsold and outspent rivals in a market that’s grown increasingly competitive, especially as OLED panels have moved from a niche premium option into a mainstream choice for serious gamers.

At GDC 2026 in San Francisco earlier this year, Samsung gave developers a look at its 2026 Odyssey lineup. The products on show covered a wide range of what high-end gaming displays can do right now, from glasses-free 3D to extreme refresh rates.

The headline product is the 27-inch Odyssey 3D, which delivers glasses-free 3D gaming using eye-tracking to create depth without any additional accessories.

It connects to the Odyssey 3D Hub, a growing library of compatible games that currently includes titles like “Hell is Us” and “Cronos: The New Dawn.”

Samsung says it plans to support over 120 titles by the end of the year.

For those who want 4K OLED, the 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8 runs a QD-OLED panel at 240Hz and includes Samsung’s OLED Safeguard+ protection, which is designed to reduce the burn-in risk that has historically made OLED a harder sell for gaming use.

There’s also a 32-inch Odyssey G8 that Samsung is calling the industry’s first 6K gaming monitor, running natively at 165Hz. It also supports a dual mode that pushes the refresh rate up to 330Hz at a 3K resolution, and it ships with VESA-certified DisplayPort 2.1 connectivity.

At the other end of the lineup is the 27-inch Odyssey G6, which Samsung says is the world’s first 1,040Hz gaming monitor. It also supports Dual Mode, making it a target purchase for esports players for whom response time and motion clarity matter more than resolution or panel quality.
