Apple announced a bunch of new devices at its 7th September event. The iPhones have been refreshed: we have the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, which are basically the same as the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro max from last year in more ways than we expected. For instance, they share the chipset, some camera tech, as well as the long-living notch. The newly redesigned screen cutout, which now Apple calls Dynamic Island, is a reserve of the Pro models.
Oh, and the devices can now link up to satellite networks in case of an emergency, but that s a feature only North Americans will get to enjoy. The SIM tray is also gone, with eSIM becoming mainstream now. However, models which will be sold outside the US will have a SIM tray.
To find out more about the devices, you can read this story. It is also packed with some of the funniest reactions we saw on Twitter, so get there and be entertained.
In the meantime, here are the rest of the specs for the iPhone 14 lineup.

The pricing part is very interesting. The iPhone 14 starts from $799, while the Plus model starts from $899.
iPhones are also not sold in Kenya, at least officially. However, there are many third-party retailers who bring the devices here. Their markups are often extremely high, and a device can be sold twice its USA price, so you should take note of that. Devices also shipped into Kenya also attract additional taxes nowadays, so that is another consideration to remember.
