At the beginning of this month, Google unveiled the Pixel and Pixel 2 XL. The phones had a lot going for them but one thing that stood out for those who noticed were the live wallpapers that Google had on their new smartphones. The downside was, these wallpapers were exclusive to the new Pixel handsets only but thanks to one hardworking developer, Pranav Pandey over at XDA, anyone with an Android smartphone running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and above can enjoy these new wallpapers, without root. Here’s how:
- First things first, you must have Google Wallpapers app installed
- Secondly, you need to download Pixel Wallpapers mod apk from APK Mirror
- Install Pixel Wallpapers
- Open Google Wallpapers and scroll down to Live Wallpapers
- Select your preferred live wallpaper and it will be applied automatically
Depending on your device, you may also set these live wallpapers as your lock screen wallpaper. The developer has also given a warning that the wallpapers might cause some battery drain depending on the chipset your device packs but this is normal with all live wallpapers. Depending on the chipset again, the wallpapers might lag, so not to be rude but don’t expect your MTK devices to perform buttery, however, I installed the wallpapers on an OPPO A71 and they work like magic.
