Some of the features the Galaxy Nexus fell short of was lack of expandable memory and the camera, at 5mp this felt like a compromise considering the fact that it’s almost a high end device. Well Samsung did not get the Nexus preference for their phone but did get a specs bump on this one. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is GT19250 and the Galaxy Premier is GT19260, this goes to show they are of the same lineage. Now Samsung obviously wont place stock Android unless it’s in a deal with Google where the latter has strict instructions that the device runs pure Android, and Samsung is not one to pass the moment, so there is TouchWiz inside here, with all the other nice features found in the Galaxy S III like Smart Stay, S Beam, Direct Call, Best Photo and others. Lovers of Nexus and the pure Android experience would feel short-changed here, but this is not a Nexus device.
Galaxy Premier was unveiled on the 29th of last month and will be availablel in the shelves later in the month, starting with Russia(I wonder what it is between Samsung and Russia, must be their best market) then South East Asia and South Korea. There will be 3G and 4G LTE variants on the device which will be available in Marble White colour only. It will run Android 4.1 out of the box, no mention of upgrade to 4.2 though.
