Samsung announced the flagship device the Samsung Galaxy S III in the second quarter of last year, 2012 amid applauses for the wow factor and also voices of it being quite large. Well Samsung actually saw that and came up with a smaller device for the smaller hands, albeit also lesser specced. The Samsung Galaxy S III mini was the name of the device, since it was a mere rumour, many people expected it to do some quad core entrails like the bigger sibling, but Samsung unveiled it running a 1GHz Dual-Core processor. This was meant to lower the price and also bring it at a smaller screen size of 4 inch.
This essentially made it a mid range smartphone, specs and pricng, but it still had the beauty and appeal of the Galaxy S III. The Galaxy S III Mini comes running Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean and has a 5MP rear camera with Autofocus and LED Flash and a VGA front camera. It comes with an 8GB internal storage with an option of 16GB and 1GB RAM. It also has a microSD slot for expansion to 32GB. It has a 1500mAh battery. It weighs 111.5 grams and is 9.85 mm thick. This device has been available now for some time in Kenya at FoneXpress retailers at the price of Kshs 37,000.
