Safaricom also jumps in to classifieds business bandwagon

MyMarket SafaricomIn a text alert that Safaricom just sent in to alert subscribers of a new service called MyMarket. This is essentially a classifieds portal where users can buy and sell their wares. The classifieds business in Kenya and the world over has big players like Craiglist and OLX which is quite huge in Kenya after making a buyout of Dealfish, a classifieds website that was built by Naspers in Africa.

Other players in the classifieds business include Nation Media Group with their N-Soko, Capital FM with Capital Classifieds and others off the media like

The MyMarket site by Safaricom charges Kshs 5 to send an employer’s contact in a text form if you are a job seeker and Kshs 1 for a text in other categories.
