This is Huawei’s grand entry into the hot wearables market. You may mistake it for a watch at first glance but it is not. It is an integrated Bluetooth headset and band (smart) with NFC pairing and Bluetooth 4.1.
The TalkBand will connect to devices using Bluetooth 4.1 which will initiate the connection via NFC.
For now, the TalkBand will be only compatible with Huawei’s newest devices (the G6 smnartphone and the M1 and X1 tablets) with talk of them being compatible with iOS (5 and up) and other Android devices running Android 2.3 Gingerbread and up being rife. This will be a good thing and should make us more excited about Huawei’s future plans for wearables since this is where Samsung fails to wow everyone (by locking down support of its Gear smartwatches to just its Galaxy range of Android devices).
The device whose working mechanism is the same as Fitbit, will feature a 1.4-inch curved OLED display and a button on the side and is IP57 certified so if jumping inside the pool is part of our fitness routine, there’s no reason to be worried that your expensive (relative since the TalkBand will go for 99 Euros) will be spoilt.
The Huawei TalkBand B1 will be available in Russia, China, Japan, the Middle East, Latin America and in some European countries from next month.
