Safaricom Open Day November 2014

Safaricom will from Thursday November 27th hold it’s Safaricom Open day event. The telco holds several of these, partly to clear stock or create awareness of the products they have on offer in the devices line-up. We have details on the deals you can expect to find if you walk in to one of he participating venues within the country. These include Sarit Expo Hall in Nairobi on 28th-30th November, Tuskys Buruburu on 28th-30th November, Mombasa in Makadara grounds on 27th -29th November, Nakuru Standard Chartered Arena on the 27th-29th November, Kisumu United mall on 27th-29th of November. What can you expect at the Open day?

As usual, there will be discounted prices all over for the products available on sale. Top among them are Samsung Galaxy Trend which will be selling at Kshs 12,000 and you get Kshs 2000 worth of airtime and 100MB data bundle, Nokia Lumia 520 at Kshs 10,000 with a similar bundle offer, Tecno S9S will sell at Kshs 11,500 plus a free 500MB internet bundle, Huawei Ascend Y330 will sell at Kshs 5,800 with a free 100MB data bundle.
Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo, a new product will sell at Kshs 20,000 and this is a very good deal plus 100MB internet bundle while another new entry is the iPhone 6 which will sell for as follows: iPhone 6 16GB at Kshs 83,000, iPhone 6 64GB at Kshs 93,000 and iPhone 6 128GB at Kshs 109,000. The three will be bundled with a free 1.5Gb data bundle a month for 3 months.
Samsung Galaxy S5 will retail at Kshs 60,000 plus a free 500MB data bundle while the new Galaxy Note 4 will have a Kshs 75,000 price plus a 500MB data bundle. The new iPhone 6 Plus will sell at Kshs 93,000 for the 16 GB model and Kshs 104,000 for the 64Gb model.
There are other smartphone offers, some which look like they are struggling with sales, they are as below.
  • Huwaei Ascend P7 – Kshs 46,000 with free 500MB data bundle
  • Infinix Alpha Marvel (X502) – Kshs 24,000 plus free 100Mb data bundle
  • Huawei Ascend W2 – Kshs 15,000 plus free 100Mb data bundle
  • Huawei Y511 – Kshs 10,500 plus free 100Mb data bundle
  • Alcatel Pop C5 – Kshs 8,500 with free 500MB data bundle and flip cover
  • Tecno P5s  – Kshs 8,500 with free 500MB data bundle
  • LG Optimus II E410 – Kshs 6,000 plus free 100Mb data bundle
  • Samsung Erica – Kshs 4,000 plus free 50Mb data bundle
  • Tecno T630s – 3500 plus free 50Mb data bundle
There are also deals on tablets, they are as follows:
  • iSurf Windows Tablet – Kshs 45,000 plus free 1.5GB data bundle
  • Alcatel Pop 7 – 11,000 plus free 500Mb data bundle
  • Prestigio Multipad – Khs 16,000 plus free 1.5GB data bundle
  • iPad Air with 3G at Kshs 69,000 for 16GB version and Kshs 77,000 for 32GB version, comes with free 500Mb data bundle
  • Samsung Galaxy Note Pro – Kshs 85,000 plus free 1.5GB data bundle and docking keyboard.
New twist here is that Safaricom will also be selling accessories, they are as below:
  • Nokia Pop earphones selling at Kshs 1,500 – these will not come with a free data bundle, same as others below 🙂
  • Nokia Bluetooth headset for Kshs 1,500
  • Nokia Boom Headset WH530 at Kshs 2,300
  • X Cell power bank – Kshs 2,800
  • LG Portable charger at Kshs 3,700
  • Naturally expected, Safaricom modem will sell the Huawei E8231 Wifi modem which will sell at Kshs 3,500 and come with a car charger if you want to make your car a WiFi zone.
