What you should be aware of though is that Galaxy S is the flagship product that propelled Samsung to the top, now there will be Galaxy A to fight it out in another segment, Galaxy E in another and the yet to be announced Galaxy J in the other at the bottom. What you will know by now is that Galaxy A is the classy line-up with design points up it’s sleeve, Galaxy E is the less endowed version of Galaxy A, similar specs though while Galaxy J comes in to fit in the entry level.
So in the near future you will be buying sub $200 devices from the Galaxy J range, and this is where we are at now. Sammobile on Monday came about some exclusive marketing material of the new and yet to be announced range of smartphones. The Galaxy J1 is it, and it tends to have some design elements from the past, and if we are going with “it’s an entry level range” then the specs sheet is quite interesting.
What appears to be confirmed is a specs sheet of 4.3 inch WVGA display backed by a 1.2GHz 64-bit quad-core Marvell PXA1908 processor and a 1GB RAM with 4GB internal storage expandable via microSD. On the camera front, there’s a 5 mp rear camera with a flash and a 2MP front camera. The battery is an 1850 mAh and Sammobile goes on to say there will be four versions of it, LTE (single and dual-SIM) and 3G (dual and single-SIM), the latter are said to have a VGA front-facing camera.
It will be interesting to see what comes in this quarter besides the much awaited Galaxy S6 from the Galaxy S flagship range that is bound to take center-stage this year.
