LG is continuing its assault on the budget smartphone segment with its new K series of devices. The latest K series smartphone, the K8, became official through a listing on LG’s Hungary website several hours ago.
Specifications of the LG K8 are as follows:
- Size and weight: 144.6 x 71.5 x 8.7mm, 156 grams
- Display: 5-inch HD IPS display
- Processor: Quad-core 64-bit MediaTek MT6735
- Memory: 1.5 GB RAM; 8GB internal storage (expandable via microSD up to 32 GB)
- Camera: 8MP rear camera with LED flash; 5MP front-facing camera
- Operating System: Android 6.0 Marshmallow with LG’s UI layered on top
- Battery: 2,125mAh Li-Ion
- Network: 3G, LTE
- Colour options: blue and white
The LG K8 joins several other devices in the K range of smartphones from LG that include the K4, K7 and K10 which were unveiled early last month at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
Pricing and availability details of the LG K8 are still scanty at the moment but should be revealed next month when LG takes the stage before the start of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona to reveal the G5 and several other devices like its new X series smartphones, the recently revealed Stylus 2 and a pair of Bluetooth headsets.
