Samsung has started releasing the February Android security update. The update will be made available to its high-end smartphones from the past year that is the Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+ and Note 5. 2014 devices Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4 will also get the update.
The update is rolling out on a regional basis so users may or may not get it immediately.
Samsung becomes the latest device maker to do so. Huawei released the February security update to its Mate 8 smartphone in mid-February.
It is not lost on anyone that Samsung is doing so when we’re bidding farewell to February and Google is on the verge of releasing the March update in the coming week, clearly underlining the sorry state of affairs. Even then, there is no word on what happens to the other devices in the mid-range and low-end segments since these are critical security fixes that could be disastrous if not addressed.
