HTC is tipped to drop the “One” branding from its flagship smartphone lineup when it officially unveils this year’s flagship smartphone, the M10.

While there are no further details on the matter, reliable leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks) seems convinced that it will be happening.

By dropping the “One” branding HTC will have joined other notable device makers who have done so in recent years. Huawei dropped the “Ascend” branding from its devices last year when it revealed the P8 and P8max smartphones. LG had also done a similar thing in 2013 when it dropped the “Optimus” brand from its devices.

HTC has used the “One” branding on its high-end smartphones since early 2012 when it announced the HTC One X.
