Infinix Mobility’s latest smartphone, the Infinix Hot 3, started selling today on e-commerce site Kilimall. The device. which is a successor of the Infinix Hot 2 which was made available under the Android One partnership with Google, goes for Kshs 7,899.
The display size has been increased from 5-inches on the Hot 2 to 5.5-inches. The screen resolution, camera pixel count and memory configuration, however, remain the same at HD (720p), 8-megapixels (back) and 2-megapixel (front), 1 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. The battery gets a bump to 3,000mAh which should translate to better battery life than users could get with the Hot 2’s 2,200mAh battery unit. One of the things we highlighted as a shortcoming of the Infinix Hot 2 was the battery life. We’ll find out soon enough how the Hot 3 manages to change that narrative.
Like last year’s model, this is be a 3G-only device. A “Pro” version of the Hot 3, will become available later with support for LTE networks. The Pro device will also have 2 GB RAM.
Infinix will be randomly picking 100 customers who place their orders between today (29th March) and Thursday, 31st March, and have their names engraved on the removable back covers of their devices. Names of customers lucky to get the engraved devices will be posted on Infinix’s forums.
