Sony Announces The Xperia XZs, The Xperia XA-1 And XA-1 Ultra That Feature Impressive Cameras

The Sony Xperia XZ Premium might have stolen the show on Sony’s MWC 2017 announcement today, but it was not the only phone they revealed to the world.

The company also announced three new phones that are an improvement to the current ones that we have today

Starting with the Xperia XZs, this is an update to Sony’s former flagship, the Xperia XZ. It has the same 5.2 inch Full HD display , same Snapdragon 820 SoC, same 13MP front camera, same battery size (2900mAh), same internal storage (32GB/64GB for dual SIM) and made with the ALKALEIDO™ material it now shares with its predecessor and the XZ Premium.  The big change is in the primary camera where it shares the 19MP Motion Eye stacked camera with the XZ Premium that has the ability to shoot 960fps slo mo video. The RAM has also been updated from 3GB to the now standard 4GB for top tier smartphones like it.

According to Sony, The XZs will be available from April this year in Black, Warm Silver or Ice Blue.

Moving over to the XA1 and XA1 Ultra, Sony decided to amp these midrangers with nice specs. Both the XA1 and XA1 Ultra sport the 23MP 1/2.3″ sensor with the f 2.0 lens that we had on the Z5 series which is impressive. The XA1 has a 8MP front camera with a wide 23mm lens but the XA-1 Ultra ups it with a 16MP with OIS which joins the HTC 10 as the other phone with an optically stabilized front camera. They both have the borderless design aesthetic which was brought by last year’s Xperia XA which thanks to the tiny bezel makes the phones look quite sleek. When it comes to screens, the XA-1 has a 5 inch 720p screen while the XA-1 Ultra has a 6 inch 1080p display. Both have aluminium sides and are powered by the MediaTek Helio P20 octa-core SOCs.
