The Samsung Galaxy A7 will go down in history as being the company’s first ever smartphone with a triple camera setup on the back. As much as the glory quickly faded when the quad-cam Galaxy A9 was announced. Both phones are coming to Kenya but as we await the landing of the A9, the A7 has already started selling.
Priced at Kes.39,999, the Samsung Galaxy A7 features:
- A 6-inch full HD Super AMOLED display without a notch
- An unnamed octa-core CPU
- Android 8.0 Oreo
- At least 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage
- A 3300mAh battery
The triple lens cameras on the back come with a configuration of a 24MP standard lens, a 120-degrees wide-angle 8MP lens and a 5MP depth sensor. The front has one lens, at 24MP. According to Samsung, the Galaxy A7 is meant to make everyday convenient and extraordinary.
The Samsung Galaxy A7 does seem to have quite a number of things going for it but the price. In a market that is price sensitive like Kenya, even the ones willing to spend Kes.40,000 on a phone will probably look the other way.
This is not to dismiss the A7, I haven’t used it yet and it might turn out to be an awesome smartphone and for those of you who are Samsung fanboys, grabbing the company’s first ever triple lens smartphone is a sure way to pick up some bragging rights.
