Andela, the tech company that identifies and develops software developers has announced the appointment of a new Country Director for Kenya.
Janet Maingi will become the new Andela Country Director for Kenya and she joins the company from BRCK where she was the Director of Finance and Administration and previously the Director of Operations. Before BRCK, she was involved at Operations, HR Management, Project Management and Administration at Wananchi Group Ltd and Swift Global.
She will be tasked in driving the next phase for Andela Kenya’s growth as a business and the best place for technologists in Kenya to work for.

Andela is at the forefront of enabling such exceptional people – software engineers – to work with global teams building software product that impact businesses and consumers. I look forward to leading the Kenyan business in the next phase.”
Janet Maingi joins the other Country Directors from other countries which includes Jackie Ochola (Uganda), Omowale David-Ashiru (Nigeria) and Clement Uwajeneza (Rwanda).
Andela started operations in Kenya in 2015 and it globally, it is their second largest office. It has since grown to have over 400 software engineers. They have since hired and developed over 1,200 software engineers across Africa and they have been integrated to companies like Safaricom, Github and Mastercard Labs.
In January 2019, Andela announced that they had raised $100 million in a Series D funding which they said will use to “build the infrastructure for the future of distributed work.”
