The Pros and Cons of Spotify

Listening to music can be a great way of relieving yourself from stress. As long as you have access to your favorite songs and a good pair of headphones, you can survive being stuck in traffic for hours or waiting until the bus arrives. This is just one of the reasons why more and more people are now using Spotify.

Before you invest time and money just to enjoy Spotify, it’s best if you know what are the pros and cons of this app first. From the get-go, one of the main downsides of the app is that it restricts access to certain locations, but there are ways to bypass this and unblock Spotify.

Continue reading below to determine whether or not Spotify can meet your expectations, and if getting access will be worth it. To start off, here are some pros you can experience from Spotify:

  1. Spotify Has Both A Free And Paid Account

If you’re a smart app user, you wouldn’t want to pay for something that you don’t know yet. Usually, you’d still want to test the waters to check if a certain app can meet your needs as a user. This is something that you can experience with Spotify because it has a free and paid account. You can use the app for free, and if you realize that it’s to your liking, you can upgrade to a premium account for a full Spotify experience. Both accounts allow you to listen to music, but having a paid account can offer more features.

  1. Spotify Is Very Easy To Use

There are a lot of apps available in the market today. You’ll usually find an app suitable to your lifestyle and budget. However, not all of these are easy to use. There are apps that will require you to do research just to know how to use it—but not Spotify. This app is very easy to use because the interface looks like your device’s built-in music player. Aside from this, this app also allows you to create your own playlists and save songs so you can listen to them whenever you want to.

.

Once you have an account on Spotify, you can search for songs and save it using the same platform. You won’t have to open another app or website for these purposes.

  1. Spotify Can Work On Different Gadgets

In today’s digital era, different gadgets are used for different purposes. Laptops are usually used for work, while smartphones are for personal transactions. Fortunately, you don’t have to start from scratch once you decide to use your laptop today and your smartphone tomorrow. Because Spotify can be synced in different devices, you can basically listen to the same playlists and songs regardless of the device you’re using.

Spotify might seem beneficial for music lovers, but it’s not all good. Once you download the app and start listening to it, expect that it also comes with a few cons, namely:

  1. Spotify Is Only Available To Limited Areas

There will be instances when you have to pour in time and effort just to have access to Spotify. This is especially true if you’re living in some parts of Asia, Africa, and the Middle East—countries where Spotify isn’t available. No matter how much you’re willing to spend to create an account for Spotify, if it’s not available in your country, you have no choice but to look for alternatives. This is one of the biggest setbacks of the app.

Spotify is still a relatively new music app, and is continuously working on expanding its reach. So if you’re living in a country where Spotify isn’t available yet, wait for updates. This company might extend its services to your country next.

  1. Spotify Doesn’t Have Its Own Lyric Features Anymore

What could be better than spending hours listening to your favorite songs? Singing to it, of course! However, this is something that you can’t experience fully when you have Spotify in your device because this feature was removed. This means that you still have to open another app or website just so you can sing along to all of your favorite songs. This is something that can be very inconvenient and stressful for many music lovers.

Think Carefully

Depending on your lifestyle and preference, you might choose to get or not get Spotify. You can be pressured to do the former because most of your friends and families are already using the app. To help you come up with a sound decision, use this article as your guide. Carefully weigh the pros and cons so you won’t end up paying for a service you won’t enjoy.
