When did you pick up the TECNO Camon 12?

A few weeks ago or months ago?

Right.

Well, the Camon 15 is about to get here – but at least it is off the shelves for the next couple of days.

The Chinese phone maker, which is under the Transsion Holdings umbrella, is set to launch the device in Kenya, following an India launch a fortnight or so ago.

TECNO says the phone will come in three variants: Camo 15 Premier, Camon 15 and Camon 15 Air. It follows the same trend with the Camon 12 launch that was also announced in threes.

Expect the official Kenya unveiling to be performed on April 2.

Sales will begin a week later on April 10.

The spec sheet we have for the normal 15 reveals that the 6.55-inch display is still capped at HD+. The battery has grown to 5000 mAh, which is not surprising because TECNO never shies away from putting in the largest cells in their devices.

Being a Camon, there is a quad-cam system on the rear with a 48 MP main sensor. The selfie snapper is a comfortable 16 MP.

The Camon 15 Premier is the same device but with a ‘smallish’ 4000 mAh battery, the same rear camera arrangement and a motorized selfie snapper that gives the FullHD+ display a clean and uninterrupted look.

The Air 15, for the moment, is under wraps but we figure it will be the cheapest of the trio.

Also worth noting is that none of the phones have USB Type-C, and there is no form of fast-charging anywhere. Kind of a bummer, actually, but we will have full details once the launch has been done, and the reason for these decisions.

For the moment, April 10 is not very far, is it?
