Huawei announced the Y7p back in February which was a budget phone with some features that we see in mid-range smartphones.
Well now, Huawei Kenya has announced that they are officially going to launch the smartphone to the Kenyan market on April 17th 2020 which is next week.
Mid-range smartphones are often limited by their price point, which leads to them having to sacrifice key features. Even users who opt for smartphones in this segment have to settle for less. However, Huawei’s famed Y series adds a spin to this segment with smartphones that bring powerful features and trend-setting designs seen on flagship devices,” Huawei Mobile Kenya Country Head, Jim Zhujie said.
As a recap, the Huawei Y7p is a noticeable step up in specifications for a phone of its price bracket compared to the old Y7. The headlining features are its cameras. It has a triple camera primary camera system at the back with a main 48MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra wide-angle camera and another 2MP camera. The selfie camera is an 8MP unit with a f/2.0 aperture. The cameras also has Huawei’s own AI optimizations which can recognize more than 500 scenes in 21 categories so as to take the perfect shot.
It is powered by their own Kirin 710F processor which has proven to be quite competent. It has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage and supports microSD card expansion. The display is a 6.39 inch one with a resolution of 1560 x 720 and has a huge 4000mAh battery.
