Anything you post online especially on social media posts lives forever. Facebook now wants you to delete some of your old and embarrassing posts.
You can do this already but now with the tool, you get the ability to delete the posts or archive them in bulk.
Facebook Manage Activity tool lets you move your bulk posts to the trash where they remain for 30 days before being deleted.
Other features include the ability to view and manage posts in bulk. You can select filters to help with sorting the posts such as those with specific people in them or specific time frame.
These new features could help users dealing with a past relationship, clean up your embarrassing posts from when you were in High school or college.
How to mass delete/archive your posts
Head to your profile tab, click on the Settings(gear icon) or the filters icon to access it. The new tool will show you your old posts in a timeline from your recent post where you can mark them on the top right corner. You can click the filters on the top left corner to select a time frame.
This new tool is available on the Facebook app and will roll out to Desktop and the Facebook lite app.

“Whether you’re entering the job market after college or moving on from an old relationship, we know things change in people’s lives, and we want to make it easy for you to curate your presence on Facebook to more accurately reflect who you are today. That’s why we’re launching Manage Activity to help you archive or trash old posts, all in one place. The archive feature is for content you no longer want others to see on Facebook, but that you still want to keep for yourself. For example, you could archive a post you made when you were in high school that you still find amusing but that you’d rather not be seen by anyone else on Facebook,” reads the blog post.
It’s high time Twitter introduce such a feature to help us delete tweets in bulk too. Right now we have to rely on third-party tools.
