Popular apps and services on iOS are currently broken according to widespread reports on social media.

If you head over to Down Detector, you will notice that a lot of apps are crashing for a lot of people worldwide. It includes major apps like Spotify, Pinterest, Viber, Call of Duty, Tinder and more.

People have complained about this phenomenon on social media apps like Twitter.

The reason for this behavior could be related to Facebook. According to a post on Facebook for Developers, Facebook says they are aware of this problem.

“We are aware an investigating an increase in errors on the iOS SDK which is causing some apps to crash,” they said on the post. The bug is a sudden spike in crashes arising from the Facebook iOS SDK. Apparently this issue started about 11:20 am UK time which is 1:20pm our time. The bug reporter says that it seemed to have spiked an dreceded with a few “aftershocks.”

This is not the first time we have seen the Facebook SDK crashing other apps on iOS. Two months ago, Spotify, TikTok, Pinterest, Tinder and others were affected due to a problem with Facebook’s SDK which is used to power sign-in features for many of these apps.
