OPPO Watch 2 has finally been unveiled – this is the sequel to the OPPO Watch from last year, which was the company’s first foray into smartwatches.

The OPPO Watch 2 is finally here and brings with it much needed upgrades.

OPPO kept the same design aesthetic from the previous smartwatch and the Watch 2 ships with the square design and a curved AMOLED screen paired with two buttons located at the side.

A huge upgrade is the processor powering the OPPO Watch 2 – last year’s OPPO Watch ran on Snapdragon Wear 3100 and this year’s version runs on Snapdragon Wear 4100.

OPPO Watch 2 also features Ambiq Apollo 4s processor which is an upgrade from the Apollo 3 from last year’s OPPO Watch.

The Chinese version runs on ColourOS for Watch based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The international version is scheduled to run on Wear OS.

OPPO Watch 2 also comes with more than 100 sports modes to check out, SpO2 blood oxygen measuring, 24-hour heart rate tracking ad pressure tracking, stress monitoring, sleep analysis, snoring risk assessment among a host of other health and fitness tracking features.

OPPO Watch 2 promises 16 days battery life(power saver mode) thanks to the UDDE(Ultra Dynamic Dual Engine) technology packed inside that will prolong the battery life and performance.

In smart mode, the OPPO Watch 2 will last up to 4 days on a single charge.

OPPO Watch 2 uses VOOC 2.0 fast charging and the company states that 10 minutes of charging can give you 1 day of usage.

OPPO Watch 2 will come in two versions – a Bluetooth only version and an eSIM version.

In terms of sizes, we’ll have 42mm and 46mm for the eSIM variant while the Bluetooth only variant will come only in the 42mm size.

GPS support and IP rating details are still unknown so far.

We’ll update this post when those details plus Kenyan launch date and local pricing become available.
