HDM Global has revealed the NOKIA C12 is now available for purchase in Kenya.

The C-series is a budget offering from Nokia and has been in the market for more than five years. It targets customers who do not need to spend a lot of money on phones.

Nokia has also been known for its simple approach to Android, meaning it makes the software as barebones as possible. This goes a long way in ensuring that customers have a generally good experience, even in cases where the devices are not equipped with great hardware.

Nokia has also since slowed its pace when it comes to updates, something which it was so good at. For instance, the C12 comes with Android 12 in a market where Android 13 is becoming the norm.

Overall, here are the device’s general specs:

Weight: 177g

Screen: 6.3”, 720 x 1600 pixels

Software: Android 12 Go Edition

Chip: Unisoc SC9863A1, 28nm

Memory: 2 GB RAM, 64 GB internal

Camera: Single, 8 MP with flash

Selfie: 5 MP

Battery: 3000mAh, microUSB 2.0

Colours: Dark Cyan, Charcoal, Light Mint

The device costs KES KES 11,000, and comes in 2/64 GB  memory and storage configurations (support for up to 256 GB additional memory).

Adam Ferguson, Global Head of Product Marketing, HMD Global: “What people love about Nokia phones is how extremely resilient they are. The new Nokia C12 brings exactly that, with added camera smarts and improved performance.”
