OPPO has officially started the year by bringing the midrange Reno8 T series in an online launch held earlier tonight. The new lineup includes a 5G version and a 4G version.
OPPO Reno8 T 5G has a 6.7″ slightly curved OLED screen sporting a 120Hz refresh rate. The display has a 56-degree curve and a 1.9mm arc and features AI-powered adaptive eye protection, 2,160Hz PWM dimming protected by Asahi Glass AGC DT-Star2. The phone’s brightness peaks at 950 nits.
OPPO adds that they tested the durability and reliability of the curved screen through multiple drop tests, strike tests, deformation tests, wear-resistance tests and extreme environment tests.
OPPO Reno8 T 5G is pretty light and slim coming at 171 grams and 7.7mm thick. OPPO Reno8 T 4G has a fibreglass-leather design while the 5G version uses a plastic back. The former has a leather stitching pattern at the sides which the company says gives the phone a premium feel and look.
OPPO Reno8 T series comes in Sunrise Gold and Midnight Black for the 5G version while the 4G version comes in Sunset Orange and Midnight Black as well.
OPPO Reno8 T has 8GB of RAM and 128 GB of onboard storage. While the 5G version is powered by a Snapdragon 695 chipset, the 4G version has a Helio G99 processor. They both ship with Android 13 and ColorOS 13 straight out of the box. The OPPO Reno8, Reno7 and Reno6 also run on Android 13.
ColorOS 13 brings RAM Expansion feature that lets you expand the available RAM to up to 8GB of virtual RAM.
Both 5G and 4G versions have the same 32MP selfie camera and a 108MP triple camera setup for the 5G version while the 4G version has a 100MP main lens accompanied by a 2MP micro and 2MP monochrome lens. The orbit light around the microscope light can be used for notifications that can be personalized with the consumer’s preferred colour.
OPPO Reno8 T 5G is powered by a 4800mAh battery with support for 67W fast-wired charging while the 4G version has a bigger 5000mAh battery that supports 33W charging. 67W fast charging enables the phone to go from empty to full in 44 minutes.
