The warranty for a fridge and washing machine typically varies depending on the manufacturer and model of the appliance, as well as where you live in this world. On the whole, though, most manufacturers or OEMs offer a standard warranty for their appliances, which covers defects in materials and workmanship. Some manufacturers may offer an extended warranty for an additional fee, which can cover the cost of repairs or replacement for a longer period of time.
Brands such as Samsung have always been known for extended warranties, which go for a couple of years (in some cases, not for a whole product but for select parts of a device). This service, however, will soon be extended based on new information that we have learned from the South Korean tech giant.
According to the company, certain models of their refrigerators and washing machines will now come with a two-year warranty. This new warranty complements the already-existing 20-year warranty on their Digital Inverter Technology and compressors and is aimed at providing customers in the East Africa region with a good experience.
It is important to note that this new 24-month warranty only applies to specific models of Samsung refrigerators and washing machines, so you might want to check with your vendor if your product is supported.
Update: The 24-month warranty is available for select refrigerators and washing machines purchased from 1st January 2023.
