Network Director is a Familiar Face at Safaricom
Anthony Gacanja is not new to Safaricom. Previously, he worked at the telco in a number of roles.
He was Head of the Department of Technology Security at Safaricom from 2014 to 2019. This was his last position before moving to the CBK. Additionally, he has served as Senior Manager – Corporate Information Security Officer (CISO) at the telco.
He is a graduate of the University of Nairobi
Needless to say, he returns to the telco under a different leadership. He also joins as Network Director at a time when the telco is rolling out 5G in its early phases.
The telco has close to 500k users on 5G and is rolling it out into more regions across the country.
In the past few months, Kenya’s leading telco added more than 100,000 users to its 5G network. Safaricom has now expanded its 5G network to 28 towns in 21 counties.
