Safaricom has closed a deal with Kenya Breweries Limited’s beer brand, Tusker, seeking to enhance the experience at East Africa’s beer festival, OktobaFest. The tech sponsorship worth KES. 30 million will focus on providing connectivity during OktobaFest, and pushing sign-ups for Safaricom Hook, and powering digital lifestyles through M-PESA.

This deal will see Safaricom as the official connectivity partner for the upcoming festival. The telecommunications giant will showcase their 4G and 5G network capabilities at the event. It will provide Cell on Wheels (COWs) network towers to power the entire festival as well as cabled fibre to service key areas, including registration, livestream production, and gaming areas.

Safaricom’s at Tusker OktobaFest 2023
Complementing the 4G and 5G network connectivity at the upcoming festival, Safaricom will also have a curated data bundle plan, ‘Oktobafest Bundle’ for consumers to live-stream the event.
Safaricom promises fast and secure payments via M-PESA, with a 10% cashback offer on all purchases made on-ground. Additionally, festival revellers will also enjoy 30% off their rides if they book and pay with M-PESA on the Uber app using the Oktobafest 2023 Promo Code, FEST2023. The telco will also set up charging stations at various locations within the festival.
