Safaricom has unveiled a new campaign seeking to grow home internet uptake. The campaign dubbed ‘feels good to be home’ aims to showcase connectivity solutions that enhance the home experience. This includes the available fixed internet solutions and add-ons such as SecureNet and Family Share.
SecureNet is an add-on solution that includes a suite of security features such as anti-phishing, anti-virus, parental control, and quiet time settings. All Home Fibre customers can now access SecureNet at no additional cost throughout the ‘feels good to be home’ campaign. Previously, this feature went for an additional KES 200 a month (after the trial period).
As part of the campaign, the telco has unveiled revamped Family Share plans that combine home fibre with mobile voice, data, and SMS in one package. This comes in handy when one needs seamless connectivity at home and on the go.
“We began our Home Internet journey in response to demand from our customers for fast and reliable connectivity at home. With increasingly digital lifestyles, our latest offerings seek to leverage our network coverage to cater to our customers’ evolving needs both in and out of the home,” said Peter Ndegwa, CEO, Safaricom PLC.

The revamped family share plan brings home internet and mobile solutions together, under one package. This package can be shared with up to 5 household members. For an additional KES 800 on their current Home Fibre plan, customers can enjoy 8GB, 400 minutes plus 1,000 SMS. An additional KES 1,800 gives 17GB, 1,000 minutes plus 2,000 SMS, while an additional KES 2,700 gives 27GB, 1500 minutes and 3,000 SMS. In addition, all Home Plus plans come with free WhatsApp.
To enable access in areas where fibre is not available, Safaricom has further reduced the price of its 4G and 5G routers. The 4G router is now retailing at KES 2,999 down from KES 6,999. Customers in 5G zones can enjoy 5G Wi-Fi with routers now retailing at KES 9,999 from KES 24,999.
For any new subscription, the customer will get KES 500 off on any package they purchase. Additionally, Safaricom has an incentive for caretakers to get KES 500 for every new home fiber sign-up.
