Uber has today launched its latest product offering – Uber Comfort.
This is the company’s latest premium tier in Kenya and three more countries in Africa. The category gives passengers access to a more personalized and luxurious ride experience in comparison to Uber Chap Chap.
With Uber Comfort, you are getting a much newer, modern and bigger car offering more space in terms of legroom and headroom. You also get more preferences including setting conversational levels such as the default ” no preference,” “happy to chat,” and “quiet preferred.”
Another extra perk with Uber Comfort is you get air conditioning which means you can set the temperature before getting in the vehicle you have hailed. You also get extended wait time up to 7 minutes.
Business travellers and normal passengers can enjoy their rides with no unnecessary small talk while enjoying the comfort of the ride with the AC and extra space which makes it feel more premium.
Uber Comfort is of course pricier(5% higher) than both Uber Chap Chap and Uber X and can be opted for dates, events, commuting, and meetings.
Uber Comfort joins Uber XL and other offerings by the ride-hailing giant available in the country including Uber Boda and Electric Boda, Chap Chap Share, Uber XL and the two mentioned above.
The same safety features on the other tiers are also available here – both in the driver and rider app such as GPS tracking, trip insurance, emergency assistance, audio recording, driver hour limits and more.

The extra charge on Uber Comfort means drivers in this category get compensated more.
For now, drivers need to meet this only requirement to be eligible to offer Comfort rides which is you must have a vehicle from 2015 and newer. Uber said that they will include necessary inspections of the vehicles to make sure they meet this criteria.
Uber Comfort is rolling out in Nairobi and three African countries – South Africa, Ivory Coast and Ghana.
