About a month ago, I wrote that Samsung was going to unveil a device, the Galaxy Fame and the Galaxy Young at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. While the devices will likely be shown to the world at MWC, Samsung has officially acknowledged their existence by announcing them today. And there’s a twist to the story: it is the Galaxy Fame not Frame as earlier speculated. Both devices will have single-SIM and dual-SIM versions depending on the market you’re in.
Wondering what the devices will pack? The rundown of the specs is as below.

Here things aren’t very different from the Young’s goodies; only that there’s no mention of a Dropbox tie-in for the device.
- It will run Android 4.1, Jelly Bean laced with TouchWiz
- It will pack the usual Samsung goodies like the Hubs (notably it will have a lite version of the Game Hub), Samsung Apps
- It will tie-in with your Samsung S Cloud
- Motion UI: Smart Alert, Shake to update, Turn over to mute. Just like on the high end Galaxy models of 2012.
Others
- Audio codecs: MP3/AAC/AAC+/eAAC+/AMR/WB-AMR/MIDI/SP-MIDI/I melody/OGG/FLAC
- Video codecs: MPEG4, H.263, H.264, VP8

It will also be available in just two colours: pearl white and metallic blue.
The dual-SIM versions of the devices will have two features that Samsung touts:
Always On feature and the Hybrid Dual SIM. The former makes sure the devices are always on to receive calls while the latter allows one to make calls on one line and still use data services on the other.
While the devices are expected to show up at MWC, their availability in markets and pricing is still not known.
