In Mobile News Awards 2013 held in London at Hilton Park Lane on March 14th, Samsung did manage to scoop two awards, that of Best Manufacturer and the Galaxy Camera managed to scoop yet another award for most innovative device. The Galaxy Camera had previously won a GSMA award at Mobile World Congress for World’s most connected device. It seems the judges at the London Awards felt something special for the Galaxy Camera.
Nokia also managed to get a feather in their cap for the flagship device of 2012-13. Nokia’s Lumia 920 was tagged the most innovative handset. Nokia themselves had much confidence in their device to also brand it the most innovative smartphone at launch and in their marketing. With features like Optical Image Stabilization only found in high end cameras, Nokia Lenses and ability to respond to touch by gloves, Nokia win here only stood to assert these sentiments. As it stands, Nokia already has 78% of Windows Phone Market-share and has played huge role in the acceptance of Windows Phone devices in the global markets.
