Rwanda steals the moment with Africa’s premier event CIO 100 2013

CIO East Africa is an annual event that focuses on awarding excellence in execution of IT projects and recognition of the organizations and people behind these projects. The theme of this CIO 100 event is Value Creation through innovation.

CIO 100 honours 100 organizations within East Africa that exhibit excellence in IT for growth and betterment of the organizations. This year’s CIO 100 will be held in Rwanda, the hosts are Rwanda Development Board and Rwanda Ministry of Youth & ICT. The event set for the 10th-12th July is expected to attract over 300 participants across East Africa with the climax being the Gala Awards to be held at Kigali Serena Hotel, Rwanda.

According to Harry Hare, Director, CIO East Africa, this year’s survey attracted over 350 companies that intend to make entries for various IT innovations. “This competition is the largest ICT competition awards in Africa and is set to feature the most successful companies in IT innovation from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda. The award provides a networking platform for IT buyers and recognizes industry leaders,” he added.

CIO 100 is a global event with countries like the US, Canada, Sweden, Australia, Singapore, Vietnam and Hungary hosting their version of the event.
