It is this ending week that we saw Samsung announce the Galaxy Grand 2, the successor to the Galaxy Grand. According to Sammobile‘s insider, another member of the Grand family is not far away. The Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain next year could play host to that all new device. The Galaxy Grand Lite will likely bear the model number GT-I9060 and according to the specs being cited, be targeted at the budget-conscious smartphone buyer. That has always been the segment that the Galaxy Grand range of devices has targeted: want a slightly large display device but with a mid-range price and internals. The Grand Lite will take that even further.
The expected specs of the device will be dumbed down versions of those packed in the Grand 2. The camera, the battery, the display, the RAM and the battery capacity are all stepped down in the Grand Lite when compared to the Grand 2.
This is what the Galaxy Grand Lite is expected to pack:
- A 5 inch WVGA display
- 5 megapixel main camera backed by a VGA shooter on the front
- 8 GB internal storage (expandable)
- 1 GB RAM
- A 1.2 GHz processor
- A 2100 mAh battery
- Dual-SIM support
- Android 4.3
- Colour options: Orange, Midnight Black and Lime Green
I am very curious to see what price tag Samsung slaps on this device.
