Reports of Lenovo’s acquistion of Motorola‘s handset business aside, the Chinese company is also keen on making inroads in the African market. The company will be launching its smartphones in one of Africa’s largest consumer markets, Nigeria and is poised to take on Tecno which has literally taken over the West African country with its affordable Android smartphones.

Here in Kenya there is no shortage of Lenovo tablets in shopping malls and device retail outlets in major towns and it is only a matter of time before Lenovo smartphones make their way here.
