Samsung Galaxy Alpha rumours and speculations hit the web sometime back, then it was expected to be just aesthetics change off the Galaxy S5 with metal as an addition. But recently we have come to learn that this is indeed a new range of devices starting with the benchmark topping 4.7 inch Galaxy Alpha. Now the Galaxy Alpha is expected to launch this month, possibly this week, a date that was once expected to be 4th but reports have it that this could be on the 13th of August.
New report from Techmundo which also include a photo of a slide in marketing material have a full specs sheet, product image, a launch date and price. Not much is new from previous leaks, this looks just like a confirmation of what we have seen previously.
The site reports a specs sheet as follows:
- 4.7 inch 1080 x 720 pixels
- 32GB internal memory, non-expandable
- 2GB RAM
- 12 mp camera rear, 2.1 mp front
- 4G LTE on-board
- Octa-core Exynos Processor
- USB 3.0, just like the Note 3
- Bluetooth 4.0
- 1860 mAh battery
- Fingerprint Sensor and heart rate monitor
What we have here is that the device will launch running an Octa-core Exynos processor that will also be capable of 4G LTE and a storage option of 64GB to be available.
According to Techmundo the device will launch in the second half of August or start of September which contradicts previous reports that indicate that Samsung could want a gap between the launch of Galaxy Alpha and Note 4 in September. But anything is possible, Alpha could launch in the sidelines of Galaxy Note 4, nothing stops this.
They go on to further state that the device will start sellingin Brazil with a price tag of R$2,399 (USD 1044) which sounds quite steep.
