Samsung is expected to change the norm in their product launch cycle this year. Usually by now we are expecting the next Galaxy Note version with bated breath before it gets a Q3 launch. This one will be different as the Galaxy Alpha makes it’s entry to the smartphone world and bring what is expected to be Samsung metallic phone. The phone, according to previous rumours will be a 4.8 inch smartphone with a 720p display and non-expandable memory.
Sammobile doesn’t say where they got this but they have a date with them for the Galaxy Alpha launch, and it’s quite close. Monday the 4th of August which happens to be net week will be the date of the announcement. Galaxy Alpha will run Android unlike the Galaxy Z which got launched then shelved. This one might be available almost immediately as it clears the way for the Galaxy Note 4 which will be the ultimate high end device from Samsung. Galaxy Note also ends up being the most high end smartphone all round, while Galaxy Alpha, at launch will have a blend of high end and mid range features.
There has been contradicting reports as to whether Galaxy Alpha comes running a full metal jacket as leaked by Evan Blass or whether it comes with only the sides covered in metal and back wearing faux leather as the leaked photos tell us. The latter came to be confirmed to be a pre-production device so we have something better to look forward to. Meanwhile, it’s just a weekend and two days away so it shouldn’t be long before we have everything.
