We’ve heard for so long now that Huawei and LG would be making this year’s Nexus smartphones. That Huawei would be making a much larger device to appeal to everyone that loved Motorola’s large Nexus 6 and LG would be catering to the crowd that still hold on to their sizeable LG Nexus 5 from 2013. Thanks to the leaks engine, we now get to see the Huawei Nexus and its retail packaging as well as the wrapper on the LG-made Nexus.
Here is the Huawei Nexus 6P:
The retail packaging all but confirms the names that have been floating around for the two devices: Nexus 6P for the Huawei device and Nexus 5X for the LG-made Android Marshmallow showcase.
We’ve previously seen the Huawei Nexus and those early leaks are very much in tandem with the latest render.
The two devices, like other Nexus devices before them, will be what Google uses to show its partners and the world what Android 6.0 Marshmallow is capable of. They are also expected to be some of the first smartphones to pack a USB Type C charging port. They will have fingerprint scanners since Android 6 finally natively supports it as well as for the sake of Android Pay, Google’s revamped mobile payments service.
Google is expected to announce the two devices at an event on September 29th.
