After using the Tecno Phantom 6 Plus for over a month, I picked up its smaller sibling, the Phantom 6 for a comparison with the former. One of the things I duly noted that the smaller Phantom 6 had that its larger sibling was missing is an unnecessary addition: Trustlook Security.

Trustlook Security, as the name implies, is a security app that also includes options to optimise the device for faster performance and all by getting rid of junk files.

Now, the 6-inch Tecno flagship smartphone is also getting it so that it is at par, software-wise, with its smaller sibling.

In a new update reportedly rolling out to the Tecno Phantom 6 Plus (which also happens to be the device’s first ever update), Trustlook Security is one of the new features that are being added to the device.

Other additions to the Phantom 6 Plus in the form of apps include the Phoenix Browser, the Aha app (I have no idea what that is, anyone know anything about it?). 3G internet access issues on some network SIMs in Ethiopia (where internet access is currently either wholly inaccessible or very restricted thanks to a recent government-ordered network shutdown), delayed connections to 5GHz Wi-Fi networks among other stability and performance issues have also been fixed.

I am yet to receive the said update on my review unit so this should be a staggered rollout that will eventually get to everyone on time.
