Apple today has announced a bunch of stuff: The iPhone 7 & 7 Plus in Red and a relatively cheap iPad.
They also announced a new app that will allow you to create potentially viral video and they’ve named it Clips. “Apple today introduced Clips, a new app that makes it quick and fun for anyone to create expressive videos on iPhone and iPad,” they said in the press release.
The app features an interesting design where it lets users create multi clip videos on their iPhones or iPads where they only need to hold a single button to shoot live video and photos. Afterwards, they can add filters, emoji, shapes or speech bubbles as well as customizable texts and posters with animated backgrounds. Clips also has an extensive library of soundtracks which will automatically adjust according to the length of the video.
Clips also has Live Tiles which will allow users to create animated captions or titles by using their voice. Captions will be generated automatically as you speak and will be in sync with your voice. You will be able to mix and match different styles and also have the opportunity to add inline emoji. According to Apple, Live Tiles currently supports 36 languages.
The videos that will be made with Clips can be shared to popular social networks like Instagram, Facebook or YouTube. When you are sharing these Clips on Messages, you can suggest to share based on the people that are in the video and the people you share with most often.
Clips will be available on the App store beginning in April and will be compatible with iPhone 5S and later, iPad mini 2 and later, the new 9.7 inch iPad, iPad Air, iPad Pro Models and iPod touch 6th generation. Your device should be running iOS 10.3
Now we wait for the influx of these clips all over your social feeds in the coming months. Check out the product video here.
