The Camon series is Tecno’s avenue to showcase what they can do when it comes to smartphone photography. Last year, the company released the Camon C9, which did pretty good with its camera. This year, Tecno is aiming to capture all the selfie addicts with the Camon CX, which features a centered 16MP front facing camera with a dual front facing flash.

At the back, Tecno retains the same 16 mega pixel camera as seen on the Camon C9 (at least the mega pixel count is the same but the sensor could be different). It also features a ring flash with four flashes embedded in it. The Camon CX is not only about the camera, although that is the main selling point.

The Camon CX is a well-built “aerospace-grade” aluminum alloy uni-body with a 5.6 mm thickness. At the front, there’s a 2.5D NEG glass (Nippon Electric Glass) covering the 5.5 inch Full HD IPS display. The device comes with 2GB RAM, 4G LTE and fast charging capabilities.

Alongside the Camon CX, Tecno also launched the Camon CX Air, a cheaper variant of the CX with the same camera optics, 2GB RAM, 5.5″ IPS HD display, and a slightly slower SoC (system on chip). The two devices come in a multiple variety of colors; Champagne Gold, Sky Gray, Elegant Blue and Rose Gold.

Below is a full list of the two device’s specifications:

  1. Those specs at that price point..To die for! I have a feeling if they have not dethroned Samsung yet. This one will dethrone J & A series like 8AM in the morning. The only thing that may be a tough nut for them is the display. Samsung wins hands down with Super Amoled. And Tecno looks like it has fixed that with the 1080p resolution. I tested the camera on Phantom 6 quite winning too if the same specs are rolled on here Samsung will get a serious challenger for the 1st time.
