Two smartphone trends have really taken off in 2018, notches and cameras. It seems like every manufacturer out there is adding a notch to their device. Well, Samsung decided to go the other route and add cameras instead.
The company’s latest device boats of a total of 5 cameras. Having 5 cameras is not entirely new, LG V40 ThinQ has 5 as well, but Samsung is the first to put 4 lenses on the back and just one at the front. The device, Galaxy A9, is a mid-tier smartphone that is apparently built for those who love to explore, capture the moment and share what they see.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 comes with four lenses on the back, each with its own unique function. From top to bottom, we have an 8MP lens with a 120-degree wide-angle view, below it is a 10MP telephoto lens for 2x zoom, followed by the main lens, a 24MP shooter and finally a 5MP depth sensing lens for portrait shots. On the front is a single 24MP lens for your selfies.
Aside from the crazy camera set up, the rest of the device isn’t too shabby. The phone is clad in gradient colour – this seems to be another trend that is picking up and quite a good list of specifications:
- 6.3″ Super AMOLED Display
- 6GB RAM
- 128GB Internal storage
- 3800mAh battery
- Android 8.0 Oreo
- USB-C fast charging
- Oh yeah, Bixby 😁
The Samsung Galaxy A9 is said to launch in the country some time around mid-November. The device will definitely attract some attention but whether that becomes positive or negative will be entirely reliant on the price that Uncle Sam decides to go with.
Update: The device will retail at Kes.65,000
