It is being reported by the major dailies that KCSE results will be announced today by the Education Cabinet Secretary, Amb. Amina Mohamed.

This will happen from 10:30am as reported by Daily Nation and it will be done at the Kenya National Examinations Council headquarters on Dennis Pritt Road. This is starkly different from what we saw with the KCPE results where they were announced at Mombasa by the Education Cabinet Secretary.

As you know, the Ministry and the exam body have leveraged on mobile technology to send out these results to the candidates and the families that are waiting with baited breath.

The over 600,000 KCSE candidates for this year will be able to know their results either by sending a text or checking it online.

The candidates will only need to send an SMS with their index number to 20076 to get their results, just like how they did it with the KCPE results. This applies to most carriers so you can confirm with your preferred carrier whether they support this and the charges. For example, Airtel Kenya has already confirmed that the premium SMS service costs KES 25 per SMS.

There is also the Kenya National Examinations Council portal where you can do a bunch of things regarding the examinations process and one of them is checking your online result slip. KNEC might add this to the KCSE section later on and texting for now seems to be the fastest way to get your results after the announcement by the Cabinet Secretary of Education.
