TECNO is set to launch the TECNO Spark 5, the successor to the TECNO Spark 4 that was launched late last year.
And like what the company has done with the Spark series of phones, we expect a bump in specs and features to the last Spark phone.

TECNO is now focussing on the camera features of the Spark series and the TECNO Spark 5 will sport 5 cameras. TECNO says that this is to enhance the photography and videography experiences for its users.
It is expected that the camera system will feature a Quad rear camera setup and a single selfie camera. The TECNO SPARK 5 camera system will feature an upgraded AI Camera 3.0 algorithm and AI scene detection capabilities.
The rear cameras have a quad-LED flash while the dual-LED flash will aid the front-facing camera for low-light shots and selfies.
TECNO also took into account that the TECNO Spark 4 was getting disadvantaged in term of battery capacity when compared to its rivals at that time including the Infinix Hot 8. The TECNO Spark 5 will now come with a 5000mAh battery, an improvement over the 4000mAh battery that its predecessor had.
TECNO Spark 5 also brings a larger immersive display at 6.6″ with a resolution of 720 by 1600 pixels.
Running the show will be Android 10 and HiOS 6, TECNO’s custom UI. This is a welcome feature for users who want to use phones that feature the latest operating system.
Hopefully, the internals get upgraded too. We expect more RAM, storage and a relatively faster processor.
Speaking about the TECNO Spark 5, Dickson Ireri, East Africa Regional Training manager, said: “Over the past year, we have stepped up our presence in the region, because of the demand from our fans who want high-quality features at accessible prices. Our previous smartphones saw strong demand, building the community of TECNO Mobile fans in the UAE. The Spark 5 will include powerful camera capabilities across its five cameras, backed by artificial intelligence; Subsequently, the Spark 5 has the potential to take professional-grade images. Consumers in the region want access to the latest innovation for a better-connected life, and with the Spark 5, we will give them just that.”
