Airtel Kenya is set to revise its mobile money charges from June 3.
The changes will affect the amount customers pay to withdraw funds from agents, as well as the cost of transfers to other networks (M-PESA and T-Kash).
Airtel also says that it will adjust the fees for person-to-person transfers to other networks.
Of course, sending the maximum of KES 100 to other networks is still free, and there will be no limit to the number of times such transfers will be made.
Transfers from Airtel Money to bank accounts will also remain free.
Other developments include the reduction of transaction bands from 20 to 12 for easier interpretation of transaction fees, as well as the reduction of service charges across all bands. For instance, withdrawing KES 500 will cost KES 22 from KES 27.
We have reviewed our Airtel Money transaction fees to enable our customers to continue enjoying affordable prices while transacting through their mobile money wallets. Our customers can now easily transact without fear of excessive charges, as a result of the reduced withdrawal costs from agents. – Airtel Kenya, Managing Director, Prasanta Das Sarma.
